Your Opportunity

The role of a Transportation/Civil EIT is to work as a team member on small and large projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. The Transportation/Civil EIT will work under close supervision of a Senior Engineer to develop skills in evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering systems or products for a project.

A Transportation/Civil EIT will perform a variety of tasks which may include assisting with the plans and designs of structures and facilities such as bridges, railroads, roads, airports, harbors, dams, irrigation projects, pipelines, tunnels, power plants and other projects. 

Your Key Responsibilities Use knowledge of general concepts of engineering elements through investigation and analysis, to support engineering projects that focus on transportation systems such as highways, streets, drainage structures, utilities, traffic signals and roadway lighting. Perform basic calculations to analyze and design engineering system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software. Assist team in preparing engineering designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports, and gather information to support design decisions Assist in basic interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer. Assists the team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications. Perform field work related to construction related activities as required. Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.

Your Capabilities and Credentials Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil design.  Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite. Basic understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D and any other relevant design software and knowledge of calculations performed by the software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team. Education and Experience Minimum of Bachelor's Degree Engineering with an emphasis in Civil Engineering. Related co-op/Internship work experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. 

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.

Additional Information Salary Range(s): Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s): Location Description: Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in MN, NYC/NY Min Pay Range: $65,800 Max Pay Range: $92,100 Note: The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
