Our civil engineers have abundant avenues to advance their careers in the field of land development. Our team provides numerous opportunities for engineers to gain valuable firsthand experience across various civil engineering projects, collaborating closely with seasoned professionals in a team-focused and supportive environment. You will play a pivotal role in all aspects of project design, including entitlement and schematic design, and see projects through to the successful completion of construction. We provide civil engineering services to both private and public sectors with projects in a vast market sector, including; Commercial, Retail, Mixed-Use, Hospitality, Multi-Family Housing, Parks & Recreational Facilities, Health Care, K-12 Schools, Higher Education, Military, Transportation, and Public Agencies.
The scope of our services may include site assessment, due diligence, master planning, entitlement, grading & drainage design, hydrology study, stormwater quality design, utility improvements, street improvement plans, public utilities, and technical studies for environmental impact reports. Additionally, we provide project management and prime contract work.
Job Overview:
Our Orange County office has an opportunity for experienced civil engineers to join our team and contribute to our diverse range of land development projects. As a key team member, you will have the opportunity to work on various projects, taking on responsibilities aligned with your experience level. From grading and drainage design to water and sanitary sewer design, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality designs and ensuring project success. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with clients, you will have the chance to showcase your technical expertise and contribute to the growth and development of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with design disciplines such as architects, landscape architects, structural engineers, and MEP professionals to coordinate project designs effectively. Conduct grading, drainage, and utilities design, applying industry best practices and adhering to relevant codes and standards. Take on overall responsibility for the design of specific projects, ensuring technical content and quality control. Act as the primary interface with clients, coordinating project details and facilitating effective communication. Perform hydrology studies and develop SWPPP documents to address stormwater management requirements. Navigate the permitting and agency approval processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines. Contribute to construction administration activities, providing technical support and resolving design-related issues.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering 3+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering, specifically in land development projects. Working knowledge of the latest versions of the California Building Code, Uniform Plumbing Code, and the American with Disabilities Act. Familiarity with local regulations, standards, and design/construction standards applicable to major site development projects in California. Proficiency in commonly used civil engineering design software, including AutoCAD, Civil3D, hydrology, and hydraulic tools (e.g., WaterCAD, Flowmaster, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within a team environment.Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license in California. Solid land development experience, demonstrating proficiency in various project phases. Expertise in grading and drainage design, focusing on low-impact development (LID) strategies. Strong background in water and sanitary sewer design, including hydrology studies. Familiarity with SWPPP documents, permitting processes, and agencies' approval requirements. Experience in design coordination with other disciplines, fostering effective teamwork and integrated designs. Exposure to construction administration, ensuring project compliance during the construction phase.Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time while working on a computer, reviewing plans, or conducting site visits. Ability to move around client and work sites, climb ladders, and traverse uneven terrain. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds of equipment or materials.Benefits:
