Civil Engineer
Job Title: Civil EngineerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Civil Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of engineering and project documents, including due diligence reports, construction documents, drainage reports, specifications, and construction schedules and estimates. This role requires effective communication and collaboration with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and team members to ensure project success. Responsibilities + Assist in the preparation of engineering and project documents, including due diligence reports, construction documents, drainage reports, specifications, and construction schedules/estimating. + Utilize reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data for project planning and design. + Research and apply various jurisdictional requirements, including Zoning and Subdivision Regulations, to engineering design. + Develop engineering drawings from concept through final construction documents, including site layout, grading/drainage, utilities, and erosion control design using AutoCAD Civil 3D. + Support zoning, ordinance, permit assessments, and cost estimates to determine project feasibility based on collected data. + Provide field observation services as needed. + Apply engineering knowledge and best practices. + Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments. + Understand and apply client standards, specifications, codes of practice, and risk tolerance. + Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices. + Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. + Professional Engineering (P.E.) License is a plus or willingness to obtain within a year. + Registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee. + At least 4 years of experience in residential and/or commercial site design, entitlement processes, permitting, and coordinating construction activities. + Experience managing project teams, budgets, schedules, and deliverables. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Excellent interpersonal skills. + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Strong understanding of industry, municipality, regulatory, and business operation standards. + Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Blue Beam. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $45.67 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
