Civil Engineer
Job Title: Civil EngineerJob Description We are seeking a Civil Engineer with experience in Transportation and/or Storm Water Engineering to join a growing team in downtown Indianapolis, IN! This role offers the opportunity to work with Senior Project Managers on Municipal and other Public Work projects while pursuing a fast-track career path into Project Management. Employees on this team stay engaged with every phase of the Project Management Life Cycle, and candidates will have the ability to either start in Project Management or move quickly into that role, depending on their comfortability and previous experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a passion for learning, trying new things, and taking on new responsibilities. Responsibilities + Assist senior project managers with quantity calculations and design computations. + Design geometric transportation infrastructure. + Perform roadway design and INDOT process and procedure. + Design traffic signals and lighting. + Conduct drainage design, pipe sizing, inlet spacing, culvert design, and permitting. + Coordinate utilities. + Observe and monitor construction for conformance with contract documents and approved shop drawings. + Record field observations and monitor contractor's quality control. + Verify that construction conforms to the contractor's quality control plan. + Make field measurements, computations, and records of acceptable work. + Prepare and maintain project records in accordance with company, client, and government standards. Essential Skills + Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-Accredited College or University + 4 to 8+ years of experience in Transportation or Water Resources Engineering + Ability to obtain PE within a year (preferred if the candidate already has PE) + Preferred but Not Required - Familiarity with Government Regulations + Preferred but Not Required - Ability to use AutoCAD and Civil 3D Work Environment This team consists of a tight-knit group of professionals located in a nice office suite in downtown Indianapolis. The office environment is small and casual, with a laid-back atmosphere, though project deadlines need to be met. This team operates with a high level of autonomy and flexibility, and employees have the ability to get involved with the Business Development and Industry Networking at a high-level as interested. This team works on a variety of Transportation, Storm Water, Wastewater, and Construction Inspection projects throughout the state. These are GROWTH positions; They are open due to an increase in project load. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $45.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
