Where You Will Work   

Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

Description Under moderate supervision, provide Civil Engineering support related to design, construction, and operation of mining equipment foundations, structural steel and building infrastructure.  Provide technical advice and guidance for all phases of assigned Engineering projects and programs, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost. Review analyses and designs; and investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projectServe as Project Manager or Technical Advisor on small-to-medium projects in area of expertiseEvaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of servicesCollaborate in site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areasAssist in the development and evaluation of Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) for capital fundingPerform other duties as requiredQualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline from an accredited curriculum and three (3) years of experience in an applicable Engineering field of expertise, OR Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline from an accredited curriculum and two (2) years of experience in an applicable Engineering field of expertiseKnowledge in the principles and practices of Civil, Geotechnical, Structural or Hydrologic Engineering or a related field of Science or EngineeringKnowledge of appropriate software (MS Office, AutoCAD, RISA 3D)Certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or equivalentAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to a diversely educated audiencePresent a positive, professional imageSelf-motivated, energetic, able to execute, and client-service orientedBe able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressureAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety of yourself and othersSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

What We Offer You 

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $87,000-$121,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
