Civil Engineer II
OVERVIEW Merrick’s High Performance Facilities team is seeking a Civil Engineer III for our Merritt Island, FL Atlanta, GA, or Tulsa, OK office to support a variety of national defense projects from multi-building campuses to secure facilities, from mission critical to mission support projects. From the reaches of the southern and northern hemispheres to a training and operations facilities in multiple states and foreign countries, Merrick designs and delivers sustainable solutions to meet Government needs for resiliency, readiness, and reliability. Our work directly impacts the operation and efficiency of installations vital to the protection and defense of the United States. Basic office hours are 8:00 am MT to 5:00 pm MT, Monday thru Friday and is a hybrid schedule. Occasional overtime could be needed with short notice. This position may also require some minimal travel. Typical salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000. Pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a civil engineer, you will be an integral part of a multidiscipline team and lead civil design of infrastructure, site development, and environmental projects that encompass planning and permitting, project management, architectural and engineering design, and construction support. The right candidate for Merrick must be able to: Perform independent design ideation, drawings, and calculations Organize CAD drawings Create project specifications and cost estimates Provide quality review and peer design guidance Assemble contract documents The ability to work independently, and yet be able to collaborate with other design disciplines and with guidance from team leadership, is a must. Design work will cover the full range of vital systems for Government facilities such as site layout, roadway, grading, erosion & sediment control, storm drainage, water distribution, natural gas distribution, and sanitary sewer collection systems. The Civil Engineer II position also includes a leadership component with supervision of other civil staff, staff scheduling and task delegation, quality management, and project reporting. The successful candidate will interface with Federal, State, and Local government client contacts as well as many levels of Merrick designers and engineers. Minimal travel (two to four trips per year within the U.S.) is anticipated. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Sciences in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program is required. Engineering Technology degree will not be considered. Must be a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) Minimum four (4) - eight (8) years’ experience or equivalent education/experience Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D is strongly preferred Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) government design projects is strongly preferred Federal Government security clearance is strongly preferred; the ability to obtain one is a plus. Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.
