Hatch, a full-service consultancy, is currently seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) new graduate to join our railway engineering team based out of the Vancouver, BC office. In this role, you will be working on major railway projects in Western Canada.

As the successful candidate, you will:

Design alignments, profiles, and corridors using Civil 3D. Produce all levels of drawings from concept to detailed design. Collaborate in multidisciplinary design teams to develop functional designs in accordance with regulations, laws, and design standards. Develop quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and design basis documentation. Maintain high-quality standards through quality control processes. Conduct site visits and develop field documentation. Attend client and contractor meetings.

 

You bring to the role:

Degree in Civil Engineering or related qualification from an accredited University. Minimum 1+ years of experience working in a civil engineering or construction management role. Construction, design, or railway experience is considered an asset. EIT status with EGBC or be eligible to get EIT within 6 months of hire date.

 

Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes):

Proficiency in Civil 3D. Ability to learn quickly and take on stretch roles. Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Shows critical and creative thinking, problem solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges.
