Job DescriptionAECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for a Civil Engineer IV to be based in Orange, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop hydrology models using flood control agency methodologies.Calculate hydraulic capacities and designs for underground pipes facilities, open channels, drainage inlets, ditches, and roadways per Caltrans’ standards or flood control agency standards.Prepare roadway drainage design plans and details for Caltrans facilities and local street facilities.Coordinate drainage design with other disciplines including: roadway, structures, grading, utilities and landscaping.Stormwater treatment system design and preparation of local agency LID or Caltrans Stormwater Data Reports.Obtaining permits required from regulatory agencies.Interact and coordinate with clients, design team partners and sub-consultants as needed for project tasks.May telecommute.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environment Engineering or related field and 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a Civil Engineering-related occupation. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Civil Engineering-related occupation.
Position requires experience in the following:
Analyzing data and drawing conclusions from the analysis;Geographic Information Systems (GIS);VBA, Python, R, or SQL;Proficient in the use of CAD and standard hydraulic and hydrology software listed: Bentley Microstation or AutoDesk Civil3D, InRoads/Open Roads, Bentley hydraulic design software, StormCAD, EPA-SWMM, USACE HEC-HMS, Rational Method Computations, FlowMaster, WSPG, HEC-RAS River Mechanics (1D), HEC-RAS Unsteady / 2D Modeling, and FHWA HY-8;ArcGIS or QGISExperience calculating hydraulic capacities of culverts, pipe networks, drainage inlets, roadway shoulders and ditches, earthen channels, and concrete channels;Developing HEC-RAS model for small and moderate sized watersheds;WSPG hydraulic modeling software;Working with public works agencies, including Los Angeles County Flood Control District, San Bernardino County Flood Control District, and Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District; andPreparing water quality report and familiar with California water quality policies and standards including Clean Water Act, Porter-Cologne Water Quality Act, Caltrans Stormwater SWPPP/WPCP Preparation Manual, Caltrans Construction Site Best Management Practices (BMPs) Manual, NPDES, and WDR; and storm water quality permitting.Professional Engineering LicenseAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
