What's your day like?
Ackerman Estvold Engineering and Consulting is on the lookout for a skilled Municipal Engineer with over 5 years of experience to join our Fargo, ND office. In this pivotal role, you will lead the planning, design, and management of high-quality municipal infrastructure projects, focusing on urban and rural roadways, water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer utilities, as well as site development. Collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and community leaders, you will not only ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget but also contribute to the growth and expansion of our municipal services.
You will prepare technical reports, specifications, and engineering plans while actively participating in marketing efforts and identifying new business opportunities. Your leadership will also extend to mentoring junior staff and maintaining a high-performance, collaborative work environment. With your expertise, you'll represent the company professionally at various municipal meetings, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Are you a good fit for this Civil Engineer - Municipal & Land Development job?
To thrive as a Municipal Engineer at Ackerman Estvold Engineering and Consulting, you will need to possess a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field, along with a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification in North Dakota and Minnesota, or the ability to obtain it within six months. With a minimum of five years of relevant municipal engineering experience, you should demonstrate proven project management skills, coupled with a solid understanding of local municipal processes and infrastructure needs. Strong communication, presentation, and client-relations skills are essential to effectively collaborate with project managers, clients, and community leaders. Additionally, business development experience or a keen interest in client relationship management will be critical for expanding our municipal services. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and the Microsoft Office Suite is required, while knowledge of Fargo-Moorhead-area municipalities and regulatory agencies will provide a competitive advantage in this role.
