Maxwell-Reddick and Associates is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Full Time Civil Engineer in its Statesboro, GA and Alpharetta, GA offices. We are offering a career opportunity for someone with 2-6 years of civil engineering experience, who possess expertise in site design and land development including but not limited to: roads, grading, drainage studies, erosion control, utility infrastructure, and storm and sanitary sewers.
Responsibilities Zoning Reviews of municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the propertySite Investigation & Due Diligence, including the review of ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations and site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelinesPreparation of Concept Drawings based upon client's development objectives and conclusions of due diligence. Involves preparation of concept plan, including coordination with AutoCAD draftersDesign of Stormwater Management, Stormwater Conveyance Systems, and Stormwater Detention including use of AutoCAD/C3D and Hydrology design software. Skills should include preparation of pipe sizing calculations for stormwater conveyance systems, including drainage area maps, surface runoff coefficients, invert, slope, velocity & hydraulic grade line evaluation using the Rational Method & Manning's EquationKnowledge of stormwater management design regulations should include County, Georgia Stormwater Management Manual, and governing municipality. Skills should include preparation stormwater management report including supporting calculations using SCS Method. Grading Design to ensure value engineering is achieved through earthwork analysis, and site safety is accomplished through the use of appropriate design slopesDesign of Utility Systems, including stormwater conveyance, sanitary sewer service, water, gas, telephone service, etc. Also involves determination and resolution of vertical and horizontal utility conflicts that may existSoil Erosion & Sediment Control Design, including stability calculations, Best Management Practices, swale design, spillway design, and determination of construction sequencePreparation of Construction Cost Estimates based upon site plan drawings as required for bonding and client purposesProject Coordination, including conferring with client, attorney, project team and Maxwell-Reddick and Associates affiliates for the purpose of preparing a comprehensive site plan applicationPreparation of Written Correspondence with outside agencies, client, attorney, contractor, etc. Also includes preparation of technical reports including drainage, sanitary sewer, and site investigation reportsOther duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering TechnologyEIT, PE preferred2-6 years of commercial site design, single, and multifamily residential sites, and permitting experienceGSWCC Level II Certified PreferredExperience designing both residential subdivisions and pad retail sites; urban infill experience strongly preferred; with limited supervision and the ability to compile a full set of civil site plan documentMust have the ability to understand and implement jurisdictional requirements in the design of residential and commercial projectsExcellent written and communication skillsKnowledge in AutoCAD (Civil 3D)Knowledge of the planning and zoning processSelf-starter who can work independently and with team membersExperience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionalsStrong organizational skillsDesign and drafting capabilitiesGrading and drainage design skills Technical Skills:Familiar with the use of AutoCAD (X-Refs, Layers, Raster images, plot files, etc.) to assist in the production of site plan drawings.
