Summary Serves as technical expert for analysis and design of structures of various types, complexity, and functional use. Design considerations include static and dynamic/seismic design and analysis, temperature studies, concrete testing requirements, foundation investigation and evaluation requirements, and construction and instrumentation requirements. Develops structural engineering computer models including constitutive models and/or programs which require knowledge of advanced mathematics. Responsibilities Functions as technical expert for analysis, design, and construction of a variety of complex structures Successfully complete assignments that require complex analysis and design considerations. Provides expert advice and guidance regarding design criteria, computer modeling, and analysis, design, and construction techniques. Supports requests from other districts and agencies to provide technical expertise and guidance on mass concrete structures, including performing technical reviews of project requirements. Utilize knowledge of the behavior of large concrete structures, incumbent works with concrete materials engineers and labs to develop project specific mixture designs and concrete testing programs. Ensures construction activities on concrete structures are consistent with all design assumptions and technical decisions utilized in preparation of contract documents. Specialized experience is defined as, but not limited to: leading structural engineer in the production of engineering products such as reports, construction plans and specifications (P&S), and cost estimates for civil works projects such as locks, dams, spillways, pumping stations, retaining wall systems, culverts, levees, and channels; preparing budgets and schedules for projects; tracking project execution (budget, schedule, and quality) and delivering quality products on time and within budget.
