Civil Engineer Technical Lead
Overview Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Civil Engineer Technical Lead to join our Telecom team! This position is available for remote work. Responsibilities + Review and/or preparation of zoning and construction drawings for various site types (raw lands, rooftops, small cell, etc.). and across varying industries including, but not limited to, EV Charging, Telecommunications, and Battery Storage Projects. + General knowledge of land development processes and procedures. + Review and/or preparation of stormwater designs, grading, and erosion and sediment control designs. + Ability to provide public testimony (training can be provided). + Review reports/findings, plans, specifications, cost estimates, permits, and other contract documents. + Provide management with technical assistance and supervision in the preparation of proposals, expression of interest, and contracts for assigned projects. + Maintain and utilize working knowledge of accepted engineering design, scientific principles, regulatory programs, and field standards and practices in the execution of design work as directed by your supervisor which conforms to company standards. + Assist with project manager’s efforts to prepare for and/or attend client/agency meetings with, or for PM’s to present information pertinent to the project. Develop innovative, comprehensive multimedia support materials for client and/or agency meetings. + Develop necessary competencies for successful execution of work duties including but not limited to: technical writing, public presentation skills, interpersonal communication, knowledge of the political process and its impact on our work, use of various software to increase efficiency and proficiency, analytical techniques, proper techniques for field work and supervisory skills. + Demonstrate the ability to assess technical products and ensure compliance with QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) policies and procedures + Manage maximum of 2 direct reports. + Support Project Managers on external communication with clients and subconsultants. + Serve as primary EOR in at least one state. + Participation in the development of internal tools, initiatives, processes, and standards to advance the group. Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required. + 8+ years of related experience is preferred. + PE License required. + Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or other related software. + Demonstrate the ability to learn, incorporate and demonstrate new/advances in technology (i.e., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Stormwater Modeling, RISA, etc.) and train junior engineers on same. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks for various internal clients. + OCALC or Pole loading Analysis experience is a plus. + Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
