Arcadis’ Ottawa office is searching for a Civil Engineering Technologist to join its growing team.

Role accountabilities:
Monitor and document construction site activities and discussions Prepare detailed daily site inspection/progress reports and collect digital photo records of site activity Interpret construction drawings and specifications and inspect to ensure compliance with the design Advise the contractor and Team Lead immediately of any observed deviation from the approved design drawings or any safety or environmental issues Inspection of the materials, methods, and construction processes of structures, sewers, watermains, utilities and roads Obtain and/or verify detailed servicing as-built information Review contractor submissions such as shop drawings, RFIs, CCTV inspections Conduct detailed erosion and sediment control inspections and preparation of reports Advise Team Lead of any potential contractor extra work claims or potential cost/time saving observations Review and verify contractor’s payment requests and progress claims. Attend pre-construction meetings, site progress meetings, and document, prepare and distribute meetings notes Liaise with municipalities, conservation authorities, contractors, and clients as required Coordinate sub-consultant inspectors and reviews, and contractor and municipal staff to carry out maintenance/assumption inspections and repairs Conduct day-to-day tasks in accordance to legislated and Company-dictated Environmental, Health and Safety mandates and other Company policiesQualifications & Experience:
Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering is essential 2+ years of related experience Strong understanding of Municipal Infrastructure Experience with drafting and assisting on tender documents, technical specifications, schedule of quantities, and construction cost estimates would be an asset Knowledge of Trimble (or other GPS systems) is an asset Knowledge of AutoCAD Experience with Bluebeam and Microsoft Suite Excellent interpersonal skills/positive attitude and ability to work in a team atmosphere is required Registered as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) is an asset Excellent organizational, computer and writing skills Vehicle and Driver's license in good standing requiredWhy Arcadis?

The salary range for this position is $25 - $30 per hour. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. #LI-JP1
