Civil Engineering - Land Development and Municipal Engineering

WSP is currently seeking a motivated Civil EIT to join our Ottawa or Winnipeg Land Development & Municipal Engineering (LDME) team. Reporting to the Ottawa LDME Manager, this position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to gain meaningful experience in designing a wide variety of projects in terms of type and scale. Examples of projects may include site servicing projects for public, private, and First Nation clients, residential/commercial/industrial subdivisions, and improvements to municipal water, wastewater, drainage, roadway infrastructure, and industrial sites. As a key member of the design team, you will work directly with the WSP project manager, other technical engineers within the team, and CAD technicians.

**What you can expect to do here:**
+ Collaborate with team members to design land development and municipal infrastructure projects, including site developments, municipal upgrades, water resources, watermain and sewage collection & rehabilitation, road design, and more.
+ Prepare analyses, designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and reports.
+ Provide technical advisory services for engineering projects.
+ Support field staff throughout contract administration and field reviews for projects under construction.
+ Actively participate in the design process and provide direction to the team.
+ Liaise with various municipal, utility, and approval agencies.
+ Assist in preparing RFPs, bid, and proposal documents.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**What you’ll bring to WSP:**
+ 1 to 3 years of experience in municipal infrastructure or land development projects for public and private sectors.
+ Basic hydraulic experience is an asset
+ Be in hold or be eligible to obtain PSPC Reliability security clearance as a minimum.
+ An undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution.
+ Knowledge and application of local standards and guidelines.
+ Basic understanding of environmental standards and guidelines.
+ Experience with sewer, watermain, and road design.
+ Familiarity with local planning and approval processes.
+ Strong communication and teamwork skills.
+ A proactive attitude towards learning and professional growth, with an open-minded approach to tackling diverse opportunities and tasks.
