J.C. Wilkie Construction, Lexington SC is seeking a Civil estimator to join our fast-growing team. We are a large, regional site contractor performing construction for new installation of water, sewer, and storm drainage systems as well as grading and road building. Position Responsibilities: + Analyze plans: Interpret plans, regulations, and codes of practice, experience in reading civil plans, performing take offs. + Calculate costs: Estimate the cost of materials, labor, and equipment. + Create budgets: Work with stakeholders to develop a budget for the project. + Prepare estimates: Use software to calculate costs and timeframes, and prepare final estimates, experience with various computer programs such as AutoCAD, Heavy Bid, MC2, and Bid 2 Win is a plus. + Collaborate: Work with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors + Manage projects: Oversee and document all aspects of the estimating and bid process. + Research: Visit work sites, pull records, and research on behalf of the construction company + Make reports: Prepare reports for other members of the construction team. Required Experience: + Must possess a valid Driver’s License + 2 years Civil Estimating experience preferred. + Experience with various estimating programs, AutoCAD, Heavy Bid, Bid 2 Win + Excellent communication skills
