Start 2025 with a new opportunity! If you are Civil Estimator with road, pavement and wearing surface experience, Ventia’s Road Transport Team would love to hear from you. In this role you will lead and prepare tenders for road construction and maintenance opportunities, including estimates for existing contract program of works. Flexible / hybrid working arrangements are available.

About the Role
You will be working with an established high performing delivery team, estimating for new tender opportunities and existing construction projects under a program of works.  The Transport team currently operates under an 8-year program of works, providing: asset management; design; and construction of road rehabilitation, road safety and road resurfacing projects with varying levels of value to our clients.  Key duties include:

Analysis of tender documentation and preparation of tender action and accountability plans Provide bid management support and prepare accurate, benchmarked and well-structured estimates for road construction tenders Prepare and issue invitations to tender and assess quotations for compliance to applicable specifications, drawings and contract conditions Review proposed project programmes prepared for tender for completeness and accuracy Actively pursue alternative construction methods / solutions to create competitive tenders Maintain records of tender correspondence, calculations and methodologies Present estimates, including basis of estimates, risks and opportunities at tender review meetings Prepare support estimate analysis and documents/reports 


Required Skills and Experience

Tertiary qualifications preferable (Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar) Proficient in CATS or Expert Estimation or similar estimating software Proven track record in developing estimates for successful road and civil construction tenders  High level independence and ability to self-manage the completion of deliverables against hard deadlines Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft suite of tools user, specifically Excel.
