Job Description
The Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of heavy civil construction projects, specifically focusing on transportation and infrastructure. This role involves managing project timelines, budgets, resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
ResponsibilitiesOversee total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. This includes interfacing with client representatives, union officials, and subcontractors.Plan, coordinate, and/or supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned projects to ensure work is completed under budget and on schedule.Authorize and approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, change requests, etc.Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are followed to adhere to core values.Maintain official project log and documentation files to track project status.Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.Manage job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting, and job costing.Perform additional assignments as directed by management.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related fieldMinimum ten years of heavy civil construction experience with at least five years in a Project Manager roleCaltrans experience preferredThorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), company policies, procedures, and standards; union jurisdiction, labor agreementsNegotiation skillsExcellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skillsProficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of Hard Dollar software preferredExperience with Vista by Viewpoint ERP System and HCSS applications preferredWork Environment
The work environment is family-oriented with an office on-site, but the position will be hybrid. The company aims to stay local and small to maintain its current family culture. There are many long-tenured employees, creating a close-knit, small company atmosphere. The team consists of about 100 employees, with an immediate team of 5-8. The dress code is construction attire, and the start time will be provided upon hiring. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $205000.00
