Site-Civil Engineer

Leidos is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our site/civil department in our growing Chicago and/or Portland office to work on a variety of electric utility projects. Typical projects involve site/civil design engineering for both large- and small-scale utility projects. Candidates who have commercial/industrial site development, or civil roadway development, mass grading experience will also be considered for the position.

This position will ideally be staffed at the Leidos office in either Chicago, IL or Portland, OR.  

Key Responsibilities:

Land development permitting including NPDES, stormwater management, and knowledge of other typical local, state, and/or federal regulations and permit requirementsResearch additional site data through various sourcesSite layout, grading, and drainage designStormwater modeling and designErosion and sediment control designAccess road designUtility coordination and designRetaining wall layout and designDocumentation of all supporting calculationsQuantity take-offsConstruction drawingsConstruction specificationsConstruction observation and field engineeringCoordination and collaboration with other design disciplines

Required Experience & Education:

B.S. degree in Civil EngineeringEngineer with 0-2 years of directly applicable civil-site design experienceEIT license preferredExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3D software (preferred) and/or MicroStation OpenSite Designer software (preferred)Experience with Hydraflow, ICPR, and various other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling & design programsProficiency using Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other general software toolsStrong analytical and technical writing skillsTeam player with ability to communicate effectively with clients and staffAble to execute projects and handle clients successfully with limited supervisionWilling to travel occasionallyAuthorized to work in U.S.

Pay Range:Pay Range $50,050.00 - $90,475.00
