Here's how a(n) Civil Superintendent for our Solar USA office contributes to our team: **Responsibilities** + Works with the site superintendent to ensure the implementation of PCL’s safety program, integrating safety protocols into all site activities and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations. + Supervises, directs, and mentors the project team, including direct and indirect reports, to ensure performance, productivity, quality, and safety standards are met. + Oversees all aspects of civil construction, including site preparation, grading, roads, drainage, erosion control and foundation work. + Effectively communicates with internal teams and subcontractors to prevent schedule conflicts, proactively managing potential issues and work interferences. + Liaises between field engineers, estimators, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with design drawings and project specifications. + Collaborates with clients, contractors, union representatives, and protect stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and project alignment. + Plans and creates the project schedule, identifying the critical path and anticipating constructability challenges. + Contributes to the development and implementation of theProject Execution Plan (PEP) and resource-loaded three-week lookahead schedules. + Manages project costs by reviewing labor reports, monitoring productivity rates, and ensuring accurate cost tracking. + Maintains project administration documentation and ensures compliance with contractual obligations. + Champions PCL’s solution-driven and profitability-focused culture. **Qualifications** + Education: Journeyman certificate or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. + Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive field supervision experience, preferably in large-scale solar or renewable energy projects. + Certifications: + OSHA 30 preferred. + First Aid/CPR, heavy equipment operation, and environmental compliance certifications are beneficial. + Skills & Knowledge: + Strong understanding of civil construction processes in utility-scale solar projects, including grading, excavation, roads, and foundations. + Ability to interpret civil drawings, geotechnical reports, and specifications. + Proficiency in scheduling software, Microsoft Office, and project management tools preferred. + Strong leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. + Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to lead diverse teams. + Candidate must have a high sense of urgency and a relentless drive to overcome obstacles.
