Job Description
My Client is responsible for delivering the design for a number of buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project.
For the Sizewell C (SZC) Project, work on the replication strategy and some early design studies are already underway under a Responsible Design contract (RD) with the client (SZC Co) and being delivered and managed from both France and the UK.
The SZC project in my Client is managed by a project team, partly located in France and in the UK. Most of the scope of NI design replication activities will be managed in the UK from the Bristol office after the Final Investment Decision. In this organisation,
The SZC Civil Transverse Engineer will be in charge to support and coordinate the technical topics across the Buildings.The Civil Transverse Engineer will report to the Civil Transverse Team Lead. Other interfaces within my Client will include those with civil engineers, scheduling and cost control teams.Outside of my Client they will work with their associated contract holder, but also with the Responsible Designer’s Project Management Office (PMO), procurement department and potentially legal teams. Interfaces will also exist with different entities with the client organisation.Main Activities of the Civil Transverse Engineer for the civil detailing activities :1. Carrying out and coordinating review and acceptance of deliverables in their scope of activity.2. Producing technical specific documents such as handover reports or hypothesis notes.3. Responsibility of raising, following up of technical open points4. Supporting the civil building lead for the resolution of transverse/complex technical open points. 5. Supporting the civil building lead and contract engineering lead in coordination with L3 civil designer and other stakeholders for producing the design.6. Supporting the contract engineering lead for the preparation of progress reports for the Client Project Manager and alerts of any technical risks to program.7. Supporting the contract engineering lead for reviewing technical proposals for variations.
Qualifications
Qualifications and experience:
Essential:
Knowledge of Structural Civil Works,
Civil Design and Construction Experience in Nuclear civil work or complex structures would be very advantageous
Experience in design of concrete structures
Experience in detailed design or conceptual design in an office or on a civil construction site
