Noblis is seeking a Civilian Space Systems Division Director in one of any these four locations

 

Reston, VA; Washington DC; Greenbelt MD; OR Mountain View CA.

 

 

The Civilian Space Systems Division Director will be responsible for all aspects of Noblis’ civilian space business unit, including line management, staff development, client relations, and business development.  This individual will be responsible for expanding Noblis’ current portfolio into broader space, science, and aeronautics initiatives at NASA and NOAA. He/she will continue to evolve our vision and direction for growth in the new space economy. They will be responsible for identifying and leading major campaigns to lead to strategic growth in science and technology within the civilian space domain. This role will require a candidate to actively engage across Noblis’ work programs in Maryland, Virginia, and California.

Reporting to the Vice President, Federal Civilian Solutions Mission Area, the Civilian Space Systems Division Director is responsible for profit and loss management and business growth, overseeing project delivery, execution, and overall customer satisfaction. The qualified candidate must thrive in an environment where they are responsible for the team leadership, management, alignment, and execution on accounts. The role will also entail supporting business development in full capture lifecycle efforts across multiple simultaneous pursuits and proposals. S/He must possess extraordinary people leadership skills for managing a diverse and highly qualified workforce.

   

Job Responsibilities:

Provide “P&L” leadership for the Division with a focus on targeted and disciplined business growthEngage with executive-level presence in driving the strategic direction of Noblis civilian space business unit.Engage with external community to maintain up-to-date knowledge of civilian space priorities, initiatives and business opportunities.Provide vision for technical teams to align with current and future client needs.Leads the Account management team to develop and execute the Account Strategy.Manage relationships across a diverse set of industry partners and collaborators.Responsible for overseeing the quality, timeliness and relevance of client deliverables.Responsible for division’s human capital planning, workforce management and professional development within the Noblis career progression roadmap.  Attracts, retains and develops a highly qualified, diverse staff across relevant experience levels and disciplines.Provide sound financial stewardship of client resources and company-allocated resources with fiscal discipline, efficiency and cost savings.Work with Noblis’ Centers of Excellence (COEs) to identify, develop and transfer technology innovation projects that enable future business growth and client impactResponsible for leading civilian space organic business growth and supporting strategic business development opportunities as part of the Account strategy in cooperation with business development team. Including, developing and managing strategic capture and proposal efforts.

 

Hybrid role: The selected candidate is expected to be onsite 2-3 days per week.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required with 15+ years of related experience OR master's degree with 10+ years of related experience.Must have experience in:Government program management, delivery, and operations Strategic account development,Direct people and talent leadership and development,Organic growth in the federal health-care sectorBusiness development and captureCustomer relationship development10+ years of leadership experience with progressively larger and more complex tasks and projects.P&L experience with teams greater than 20 staff   PMI Program Management Professional certificationDeep domain experience in NASA and NOAA core missions, scientific and technical functions; understanding of both space and aeronautics priorities at NASAUS Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Established relationships with civilian and commercial space stakeholders; active participation in relevant space industry groups and communitiesDemonstrated ability to identify, lead, and close large federal government opportunities of at least $50M in value.Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of partners including academic institutions.Extraordinary communications skills. Adept at communicating complex subjects to senior executives and communicating broad issues to the workforce with clarity. Results-driven technical and business leader with tangible record of successes in growth, mission execution, technology innovation and workforce management. Successful experience identifying, attracting, and hiring the right talent to lead new tasks, programs and initiatives Demonstrable experience developing white-space opportunities through proactive business development planning and action plan executionExcellent interpersonal, problem solving, and business acumen. Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
