Main Duties
Working as part of the team to safely erect, alter, maintain and dismantle Scaffolds, carry out inspections and tag compliant scaffolds, and report any unauthorized alterations of scaffolds or tags or persons using untagged scaffolds to your Line Manager.
Carry out B&CE related works in a safe manner. Works to include but not limited to Civils plant operation, general internal and external building project and maintenance.
3. Ensure progress is maintained for all works under your control, and under the
guidance of your supervisor maintain the ‘scaffold register'. Document and record
any inspections, changes, and work delays, ensuring any unforeseen changes are
bought your supervisors attention.
4. Ensure that all works/projects under your responsibility are carried out in accordance
with Mitie Processes, and that the necessary risk assessments undertaken.
5. Take ownership of works under your control, and on site leadership of team members
to ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the current H&S legistation,
and that works are carried out in a timely and workman like manner.
6. Produce a quality end product first time with no re-work required.
7. Maintain a close working relationship with your supervisor keeping him regularly
informed of progress, successes, issues and concerns on all of your works.
8. Organise work to minimise lost time, or non productive time.
9. Ensure that labour records are completed accurately (correct job Nr's are entered), all
overtime is sanctioned and labour records are submitted on the day required.
10. Due to the nature of scaffolding there may be times when work cannot progress due
to circumstances beyond your control. During these times you will be tasked to carry
out works deemed to be within your capabilities.
11. Carry out any other duties as directed by your line manager, or Management team.
What we are looking forEducation /
Qualifications /
Training
Educated to GCSE or equivalent.
Working towards passing CITB or IOSH H & S test.
Attended and passed PASMA course in safe scaffolding (inclusive of tagging).
Plant operators licences
To have attained, or be working towards an NVQ or equivalent in appropriate discipline.
Knowledge &
Experience
Experience of construction industry.
Good working knowledge of H&S legislation.
Experience of working abroad.
Experience of an MOD environment
Skills &
Abilities
Full clean driving license.
Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
HGV an advantage
Personal Qualities
Enthusiastic and flexible approach.
Self motivated team member with ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
