Claim Director-Aviation/Aerospace

Chubb seeks a Claim Director on the Aerospace Casualty claims team that provides specialized claim handling on behalf of Chubb’s Aerospace and Aviation customers. The Aerospace Casualty Claims position will have oversight responsibility for adjudicating claims covered by Airport Owners and Operators General Liability policies and Aircraft policies within North America and the rest of the world. This role reports to the Assistance Vice President of Aerospace - Specialty Claims.

Responsibilities

Recognize significant potential exposures on claims and prepare appropriate alerts and timely early warning watchlist matters to senior managers and our internal business partners. Appropriately manage severity exposures in a timely manner, including but not limited to early identification and reporting of a severity exposure, and the development and execution of investigation, evaluation, and resolution strategies. Appropriately identify, analyze and address coverage issues in a timely and professional manner, and communicate coverage positions to our internal and external business partners as warranted. Directs and closely monitors cases with financial impact through trial/resolution. Review claims for reserve and settlement authority in a timely manner or make recommendations to management as warranted. Provide exceptional service to our internal and external business partners. Adhere to individual authority grants, all statutory and regulatory requirements, fair claim practices and local compliance requirements, including licensing. Embrace, embody and continuously build upon NA Chubb Culture Principles and Values Proven experience as a Casualty Claims professional with aerospace claim handling experience – FAA rules and regulations, air traffic control processes and procedures, and public entity claim handling experience is preferred with a high degree of specialized and technical competence with emphasis on hands-on file and litigation management.Experience with primary bodily injury, property damage, and personal injury claims that have very large policy limits.Adeptness in marketing to prospective insuredsExceptional organization and time-management skills.Demonstrated leadership skills, embracing Chubb NA Culture Principles and ValuesStrong background and demonstrated ability in dealing with significant coverage matters.An understanding of the tenants of insurance and legal principles.Working knowledge of industry best practices and procedures.An ability to work independently and assimilate learning materials on many different subjects from various sources. Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills; and an ability to deal with customers and business partners in a professional manner.Ability to make prompt, intelligent decisions based upon detailed analysis of complex issues.Demonstrated strong relational skills particularly in adverse or high-pressure situations

The pay range for the role is $79,300 to $134,700. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
