Claim Specialist, EPL Job Description Job Family Grouping: Claims Job Family: Claims What will you do in this role? You will: o Excel in a best practices claim environment, thoroughly documenting the claim process o Conduct investigations to determine liability, damages, and coverage. o Make timely recommendations regarding resolution strategy and reserving; execute such strategy on behalf of the company, with or without the help of outside counsel. o Analyze liability and damages issues in connection with complex primary and excess claims and maintain appropriate documentation o Analyze insurance coverage issues and timely draft coverage letters o Collaborate in the defense and resolution of claims o Evaluate full pending of claims in connection with the posting and maintaining of accurate reserves o Identify opportunities for contribution, subrogation, and risk transfer to the claim o Maintain and develops relationships with brokers, risk managers and general counsels, and a variety of vendors o Provide data and analytic based-informational support to underwriters You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role. About You: We encourage you to bring your own experience and expertise to the table, so while there are some qualifications and experiences, we need you to have, we are open to discussing how your individual knowledge might lend itself to fulfilling this role and help us achieve our goals. What you need to have: o A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school or equivalent work experience o 2+ years of experience involving Employment Practices Liability either in-house or in private practice. o Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team, interact with others, meet deadlines, and successfully perform in a fast-paced, changing work environment o Proficiency in drafting coverage correspondence, experience writing coverage letters, and other reporting communications o Strong writing skills o Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills o Strong analytical and negotiation skills o Possess required states’ claims adjusters licenses or ability to obtain such licenses as required within 90-120 days of hiring (preferred states are NY, CA, FL, and/or TX, among others) What we prefer you to have: o Strong preference for additional Fiduciary/ERISA and/or Fidelity/Crime Claims experience as well. o Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Role Factors: In this role, you will typically be required to: Be in the office 3 days per week. Travel for Mediations, off-site meetings and monitor trials. What we offer: For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $85,000 to $120,000. Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location. In addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance.
