KEY OBJECTIVE:
To investigate, assess, reserve, and resolve Property Claims over the telephone while adhering to all Claims Service Standards.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze and investigate reported claims to determine the nature of loss, coverage provided, and scope of damage. Promptly and properly document all developments in the claim file. Review property estimates. Establish accurate and timely reserves. Seek technical assistance in handling claims exceeding authority. Maintain open to closed inventory ratio of 1:1 or better. Proactively manage claims by maintaining an active diary. Exercise good judgment. Effectively negotiate settlements where appropriate or required. Communicate effectively with various internal and external various stakeholders (e.g. Underwriters, Brokers). Identify subrogation and salvage opportunities. Effectively control the use, work product, and expenses of outside vendors as required. Support Property Team nationally, including assisting with CAT Duty during major industry events. Adhere to Chubb Claim Handling Best Practice guidelines.University degree, Cégep diploma, and/or equivalent insurance-related education and experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French. Minimum 3 years of experience handling property claims or equivalent experience.Strong customer service and negotiation skills, with the ability to think creatively and make decisions.Excellent time management and organizational abilities with the ability to prioritize tasks.CIP designation is an asset.AMF License or willingness to obtain the AMF License an asset.Bilingual in English and French an asset.Good knowledge of insurance business, policies, and legal requirements and regulations.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team. Ability to initiate positive change when necessary.
