Claim Support Specialist

Summary:

The Claim Support Specialist is responsible for monitoring the partial claim back-end process to ensure timely recordation and submission of original documents to HUD & USDA.  This position also includes monitoring for deferred principal balance removal by verifying all necessary documents have been received by the investor/insurer and the claim has been paid and posted to the borrower’s account.  It is essential these functions are handled timely to ensure they are completed within established HUD & USDA requirements. This individual will have additional responsibilities that may include but not limited to, processing and monitoring Partial Claim Releases, entering and monitoring requests for Subordinate Lien Releases, HUD Demand processing and follow up for missing documentation, and assisting with Non-Perfected Lien corrections and recordation.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage Daily reports to monitor the Partial claim recordation process and ensure that original documents are sent to HUD within guidelines, including daily/weekly follow up on all outstanding Partial Claim documents

Ensure efficient, accurate and timely work to complete tasks within investor/insurer regulations

Ensure Manager/Supervisor is kept informed of all trends and issues that delay the claims process or back end Partial Claim recordation process

Manage Daily reports to review and monitor the Partial claim documents have been received by investor/insurer and claim has been paid and posted to remove the deferred principal balance on loans

Upload recorded Partial Claim Deeds to internal document system and/or investor/insurer document tracking system if needed.

Ensure Manager/Supervisor is kept informed of all trends and issues that delay the timely removal of the deferred principal balance.

Monitor daily reports and queues -- Plan and schedule work so that it can be performed effectively and efficiently to reduce costs where possible by improving methods and processes.

Complies timely and accurately with instructions provided by Manager/Supervisor.  If unable to meet a deadline, the deadline must be renegotiated prior to the initial deadline date.

Monitor for Subordinate Lien Releases, Partial Claim Releases and Non-Perfected Lien Corrections as needed

Attend meetings with team and other lines of business as necessary for job functions.

Work within Legal Tracker to request attorney firm assistance on Non-Perfected Loss Mitigation Lien Documents.

Request Partial Claim Releases when needed, follow up, and monitor for recorded releases received.

Request Subordinate Lien Releases on loans with junior government liens that have gone through the foreclosure sale and follow up to ensure releases are received.

Provide follow up to other Lines Of Business when necessary on requested deed releases and documents needed.

Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Qualifications:

Basic knowledge and experience with default mortgage processes

Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy; problem solving skills

Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment, manage time well and prioritize tasks

Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as mortgage documents and department reports

Proficient in computer skills and knowledge of Word Documents and spreadsheets

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree from a Four (4) year College or University preferred

Two (2) to Four (4) years of experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

None Required

Work Complexity:

Problems and issues faced are generally routine, but often require interpretation of FFOC’s procedures or policies to resolve problems.
