Job Description

Reporting into: General Manager


General Purpose:
The Claims Specialist provides client claim support and resolves claims within standard operating procedures while providing quality customer service to all clientele and internal team members. The specialist ensures timely and accurate order processing and maintains high customer service satisfaction to support business growth.


Essential Duties:

Managing and resolving commodity claims regarding but not limited to client elected returns, QC issues, shipping issues, etc. with the goal of minimizing claims.Maintaining and developing claims reports to provide more transparent metrics to measure progress.Recording thorough notes throughout all states of the claim process.Completing follow-up communications and documentation with all clients, Buyers and the Logistics team.Coordinating with the Accounts Receivable and Logistics teams to confirm the shipped commodity arrivals.Assisting with and investigates all customer billing disputes and collaborates with the Accounts Receivables team to identify problems and provides resolution.Daily reviewing of invoiced sales and shipments.Ad hock reporting to identify trends and patterns.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

3+ years of Claims Specialist experience. Experience in logistics and/or scrap metal industry is a plus.A college degree in a related field (Finance / Economics / Business/ Sales) a plus.Excel Expertise


Language Skills:

Will be required to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, to write correspondence, memos, and schedule; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and fellow staff.Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is a must.Mathematical Skills: Strong math skills required.

Reasoning Ability:

Problem-solving, reasoning, and “thinking out of the box” will be a constant requirement; in addition, applying common sense understanding to better serve our guests’ needs

Must have strong customer service skills and strive to develop long-term customer relationships.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, telephone etiquette and computer knowledge.Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.Must display strong motivation and resourcefulness; be self-motivated.Expert in Microsoft Excel.Must have knowledge and be comfortable executing pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, functions, tables, conditional formatting, etc.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
