Claims Assistant

Provides administrative support to the Risk Management Claim Team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Provide administrative support and assistance to Risk Management Claims Teams.

Provide back-up coverage for the claim team, taking loss notices for auto, general liability, property, and team member injuries.

Proficiency in the processing and accuracy of all claim information is critical. Timeliness and confidentiality are mandatory.

Extensive customer service to field management, team members, etc., provide assistance on O’Reilly specific policies and procedure questions. 

Provide back-up phone coverage for Risk Management Department.

Providing direction to field management regarding accident/injury processes and procedures.

Tracking receipt of accident/injury documentation (i.e. accident/injury reports, witness statements, etc.) and following up with field management for receipt.

Immediate notification to department Vice President, Director, Manager, Claim Coordinator, and Safety Team of any accident of a serious nature which could trigger OSHA incident reporting requirements.

Maintaining up-to-date medical provider panel for team member injuries

Consistent, accurate, and complete entry of data into claim management databases.

Maintenance of claim files to include keeping current and accurate data, etc.

Daily maintenance of e-mail correspondence. Complete action items as necessary.

Processing requests for police reports.

Preparing and sending property and auto physical damage subrogation demands to 3rd party insurance carriers as needed.

Preparation of claim files for referral to a collection company for subrogation pursuit.

Verification/validation of claims data ensuring accuracy.

Assist in Surety Bond requests & processing.

Support the Risk Management Department thru maintaining supply inventory, toner, printer repair etc.

Coordination of department events, Birthday/Anniversary Recognition, Quarterly Meetings, etc.

Serve on Department Representative Committee (DRC).

SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIESRequired: 

High school diploma or equivalent, high level of proficiency with computers and office equipment, and excellent communication and organization skills

Desired:

Insurance, medical, or legal experience
