Claims Assistant

 

Key responsibilities/What you do:

 

To provide support to the claims team by processing administrative tasks, opening and distributing all incoming mail, loading and scanning claims, maintaining salvage box, archiving claims and clearing claims inbox’s.

General Duties:

Includes handling incoming mail, liaising with administrators, managing claim documents, maintaining communication through email, and assisting with various tasks. Also involves answering customer queries and managing claims.

Focused on maintaining good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

 

Stakeholder Management:

Develops relationships with internal staff and external partners to enhance the company's brand and market perception.

 

Escalation:

Recognizes when issues need to be escalated to ensure process compliance, customer satisfaction, and minimize risk.

 

Process Improvement:

Seeks and contributes to improvements in systems and processes for better efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the Claims Team.

 

Team Support:

Actively supports the team to ensure efficient operations and assists other business areas as needed.

 

Customer Service:

Manages customer feedback, queries, and complaints, ensuring quality service and effective communication.

 

Process:

Involves ensuring compliance with service guidelines, quality delivery, legal compliance, and reporting on team performance.

 

People:

Adheres to HR guidelines, complies with health and safety regulations, and fosters team engagement and self-improvement.

 

Compliance:

Ensures compliance with various insurance laws and regulations, including privacy, fair

 

Required Qualification / skills and abilities:

 

•    Ability to multi task
•    Effective time management skills.
•    Ability to use downtime productively
•    Intermediate level of computer literacy.
•    Ability to deliver excellent customer service in a professional and friendly manner
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Delivers on assigned objectives and strives to overcome obstacles or setbacks
•    Maintains honest and clear communication with others
•    Relevant tertiary qualifications are not essential
•    Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word
