About the role
We’re looking for someone to join our growing team as a Claims Manager, Accident Benefits supporting our Minor Injury (MIG) teams.
Please note, this is a 12-Month Secondment.
As a Claims Manager, your work will have a big impact as you will be responsible for the direction and management of the MIG Accident Benefits Claims Teams across Ontario. You will oversee day-to-day operations providing for efficient and effective work processes, quality customer service, and continuous improvement meeting all company standards, procedures, and goals. In addition, you will authorize settlements within authority level or escalates those cases with higher financial requirements or special circumstances and assist the Director - AB in providing for the overall direction and management of the customer service and claims settlement.
Locations can be either of the following offices: Ottawa or Toronto Ontario.
What you’ll do here:
Manage the day-to-day operation of the minor injury Accident Benefits Units of the claims department to achieve essential business goals and meet customer service expectations.Reports on progress up against specific goals and objectives, providing monthly/quarterly updates on same. Ensures effective implementation of and compliance with all company policies and procedures. Manages relationships with key vendors within area(s) of expertise, ensuring that corporate policies and procedures as well as customer service and productivity standards.Assist Directors to develop policies, strategies, budgets and long- and short-term plans to facilitate ongoing work, project development and implementation, process improvement, customer relations and other functions.
Act as a claims authority within area of expertise and provides direction on such issues as policy interpretation, legal and technical issues or concerning large losses. Settle claims within own authority or escalates issues as necessary.Responsible for managing the employees within own group including and all necessary and related tasks and associated HR components.Accountable for the overall engagement of the MIG and AB COE and creating agility in a dynamic changing environment.Manage budget and material resources within own group to provide exceptional customer service and while meeting all the company’s financial and productivity goals.Develop, recommend, and implement strategies for loss cost containment on MIG claims.What you bring to the table:
