We currently have an opportunity for a Claims Officer to join our Public Liability Claims team to manage a portfolio of property damage claims. As a Claims Officer you will play an integral part of our Liability Claims business by taking pride in delivering an exceptional customer experience at every touchpoint. You are self-motivated, with a keen attention to detail, capable of maintaining high standards during times of change and resilient when facing challenges.

Your New RoleAs a Claims Officer, your role is pivotal to the team’s success, proactively supporting our claims philosophy and strategy, managing end to end property damage liability claims and acting within legislative requirements to support the unit in achieving its targeted objectives.
The key responsibilities for this role include the following, but not limited to:
Efficient management of the claims process, resulting in accurate completion and validation of claims.Interpreting policy coverage and determining if coverage applies to claims submitted, escalating issues as needed.Setting reserves and authorizing payments within scope of authority, settling claims in the most cost-effective manner.Proactively managing claims to achieve best customer outcomes and prevent escalations.Establishing and maintaining good client relationships with the insured, brokers, investigators, solicitors and the general public.Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and standards.Respond to inquiries in an accurate, timely, professional and courteous manner within Privacy guidelines.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:
An understanding of the insurance industry and claims processes.Ability to understand and interpret relevant policy wordings;Ability to engage, instruct and collaborate with relevant providers including loss adjusters, lawyers and consultants;Legal qualifications will be preferable but not a mandatory requirement;An understanding of the General Insurance Code of Practice;Ability to effectively collaborate, build and maintain strong client/customer relationships;Demonstrated analytical and negotiation skills, ability to interpret technical / investigation reports to make sound business decisions;Strong organisational skills alongside proven time management skills.About QBEWe can never really predict what’s around the corner, but at QBE we’re asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future – helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
