The Opportunity -

The Claims Representative is a claims handling role where you will be responsible for working directly with consumers, builders, contractors, and other parties involved in the home warranty claim.  You will maintain a claim caseload and work files through to completion. You will work in partnership with other claims staff in both an individual and team-oriented capacity and report directly to the Claims Manager. The Claims Representative position offers the opportunity to become immersed in the New Home Warranty field, a niche class of insurance, with opportunity for growth and development.

A Day In the Life –

The Claims Representative role will involve claim handling activates ranging from:

Frequent communication between all parties involved in the claim.

Managing your respective claim caseload including abeyance setting, reserve setting, warranty policy review/interpretation, coverage drafting/issuance, contractor quote arrangement and assignment, payment issuance, and much more.

Educating consumers and builders about home warranty insurance in their respective jurisdictions.

All other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned.

What You Bring to the Team -

Level 1 or 2 General Insurance License or the willingness and desire to obtain.

Proficient technical skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other standard business software.)

Exceptional time management and organizational skills.

Exceptional communication, both verbal and written.

Self-motivated and a positive attitude.

Experience in New Home Warranty, Insurance and/or Construction would be considered an asset.

Post-Secondary education would be considered an asset.

Salary Expectations -

The expected salary range for this position is $50,000.00 to $55,000.00 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
