This is a hybrid opportunity and this role requires onsite in-office presence approximately 1 to 3 days per week at either our New York, NY or Chicago, IL office locations.
The multiline Claims Specialist will handle commercial property casualty insurance claim matters presented by clients of Risk Strategies Inc. & its affiliates.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Receive newly created loss from Claims Administrator and confirm that the claims is filed under the appropriate policy(ies)Review circumstances surrounding claims along with appropriate coverage and verbally communicate preliminary coverage opinion to the clientAcknowledge receipt of claim to client in writing and request all documents necessary in order to move forward and properly advocate on client’s behalfKeep AMS/Epic claim file properly updated and attach documents in accordance with protocols created and set within the departmentHandle to conclusion insurance claims assigned by Claims Team Leader. Duties include advocating for the client, maintaining an active diary, transmittal of documentation, follow up calls, and emails to the client and carrierMeet with clients when necessary/Attend on-site loss inspections when necessaryAssist client in assembling and submitting their claim to the carrierField client questions or complaints and act as mediator with the carrier when necessaryProvide information for adjusters and other company personnel as requestedProvide insured with interim and final settlement informationReview lawsuits submitted by clients prior to filing with carriersPursue programs for personal and professional developmentRequirements and Qualifications:
5+ yrs. Commercial property & casualty claims experienceValid P&C Broker’s license a mustCommercial claims handling experience a mustCollege degree preferredDemonstrate proficiency in computer applications, esp. Microsoft Office SuitePossess the ability to provide superior customer servicePossess excellent client advocacy and negotiation skillsAt Risk Strategies Company, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off and paid holidays for eligible employees. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $64,800 - $90,000 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
