Claims Specialist

Our Claims Specialist will handle Commercial & Professional Lines property and casualty insurance claim matters for Risk Strategies’ clients.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

The duties of the Claims Specialist include, but are not limited to;

Review circumstances surrounding claims along with appropriate coverage and verbally communicate preliminary coverage opinion to the clientAcknowledge receipt of claim to client in writing and request all documents necessary in order to move forward and properly advocate on client’s behalfKeep AMS claims file properly updated and attach documents in accordance with protocols created and set within the departmentHandle to conclusion insurance claims presented by RSC clients and/or as assigned by Claims Practice Leader.  Duties include advocating for the client, maintaining an active diary, transmittal of documentation and follow-up correspondence to the client and carrierAssist client in assembling and submitting their claim to the carrierAttend client meetings, on-site loss inspections and board meetings when necessaryCoordinate and mediate at builder’s meetings on problem claimsField client questions or concerns and act as mediator with the insurance carrier when necessaryProvide information/documentation to adjusters and other company personnel as requestedProvide insured with interim status and final settlement informationReview lawsuits submitted by clients prior to filing with carriersHandle Account Executive inquiries and provide loss information when necessaryConduct and/or attend client claim reviews as requested by Producers and Account
ManagersPerform other duties/projects as assigned by Claims Practice Leader from time to timeThere will be approximately 10% travel included in this role

Requirements and Qualifications:

5+ yrs. Commercial Lines claims experienceValid P&C Broker’s license preferredPossess excellent verbal and written communication skills and exceptional interpersonal communication skillsAgency management system knowledge required, AMS 360/Work Smart preferredProficient computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office suite
