The Role:
As a Claims Handler in our John Lewis Home Insurance Claims team, you will deal with claims from first notification of loss through to settlement, where you’ll have the autonomy to act as the claim owner and decision maker, working alongside suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to identify the best solution to support the customer and resolve their claim. And as an industry leader in innovating digital solutions, you’ll have access to a variety of technologies to support you and enhance the customer journey. Access to the latest video technology will provide you with the opportunity to access customer properties and liaise with suppliers on site where appropriate during the claims process.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Single contact point for customer & suppliers
Claim, information & supplier project management
All cost control and payments
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the highest technical quality, always with customer experience in mind as befits a John Lewis product. You will be an excellent communicator, self-motivated and disciplined. Flexibility and willingness to embrace change are a must, along with an enthusiasm for industry leading technology.
You will have/will be:
Exceptional Customer Service ethics
Ability to demonstrate in excess of 2 years’ experience of handling domestic property claims from instruction to conclusion
Commitment to gaining the relevant knowledge and skill for the professional and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Self-motivated, conscientious, and able to work under your own initiative
A desire to embrace innovative working practices
Ideally have or be progressing with Cert CII and Cert CILA qualifications
Conscientious and hard working to achieve required results, as well flexible and adaptable during times of surge.

When You’ll Work:
You’ll be contracted to work 35 hours per week – Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
However, a degree of flexibility may be required during busy periods.
