Pitura Seeds is Western Canada’s largest family-owned pedigreed seed processing facility. With a rich 100-year history spanning three generations, the company is proud to grow and contract tens of thousands of acres of top-quality pulses, cereals, and oilseeds on a yearly basis. Located only 25-minutes south of Winnipeg, they are considered one of Manitoba’s fastest growing companies. On their behalf, we seek to hire an experienced Operations Manager to join their team. Reporting to the President, you will oversee all Plant operations including cleaning, bagging, warehousing, and logistics of seed.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for hauling bulk seed and grain products from Pitura Seeds main location in Domain to various sites across Manitoba, ensuring efficient and safe transport that meets their delivery standards and adheres to both company and industry protocols. Committed to maintaining the highest level of quality by rigorously following established standards and procedures, ensuring every aspect of the work aligns with our company’s commitment to excellence and safety. Tasked with managing the internal transfer of seed and grain within the yard site, coordinating the movement of materials to support optimal facility operations and organization. Operate augers and conveyors with skill and precision during loading and unloading at their site, focusing on safety, efficiency, and product integrity to minimize any potential loss or contamination. Oversee the regular washing, inspection, and maintenance of semi-trucks, trailers, and yard equipment to ensure reliable performance, prevent unexpected breakdowns, and uphold the professional appearance of their fleet. Provide essential support to the facility’s production staff when not driving, contributing to seamless daily operations and assisting wherever needed to help achieve production goals.Qualifications:
Hold a valid Class 1 license for professional driving requirements. Maintain a clean driver’s abstract demonstrating reliable and safe driving. Possess strong communication and customer service skills for effective interactions.
