Class A CDL Driver

JOB SUMMARY:\n

Responsible for loading, transporting and unloading materials and supplies to and from specified
destinations. Responsible for operating company equipment at the job-site under the direction of
the Blaster in charge. Must be certified by APC to drive.\n

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n

Must satisfactorily perform each of the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities listed
below.\n\nDrives and\/or operates any manufacturing unit, equipment, or vehicle (including
Dewatering Truck, Straight Truck, Tractor Trailer, Bulk Truck, HEET Truck, Gassing
Unit) for local delivery or over-the-road as required per the driver's classification.\nPulls\/loads\/unloads\/counts inventory both pre- and post-trip.\nDuties may include loading\/unloading trucks, counting product, completing paperwork, shoveling,
operating vehicles, and performing duties as a helper to the Blaster in charge.\nMaintains\/operates vehicles and equipment in a safe, professional manner that contributes
to the Location's operating effectiveness.\nCompletes pre and post-trip vehicle inspections and reports maintenance requirements to
location management.\nMaintains appropriate levels of skill\/knowledge of equipment\/vehicle operation.\nDevelops and maintains positive work relationships with co-workers, customers, vendors
and government agencies.\nDisplays work behaviors that are honest and ethical in pursuit of APC business goals.\n\n

Safety & Compliance:\n\nComplies with APC inventory management procedures.\nMaintains a safe and healthy work environment by assuring regulatory compliance at the location, at customer sites, and during transit.\nCompletes and maintains accurate, legible paperwork as required by company policies and procedures, Department of Transportation, or other federal or state agencies.\nAssist or perform the duties of Load\/Plant Crew.\n\n

ERGONOMIC CONDITIONS:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Outdoor climate and terrain. Exposure to dust, noise, oils, greases, and other debris. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is also required to stand; sit; use hands to operate controls, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. Loads and unloads 40-60 pound product bags or boxes from company trucks. Unloading may require repeatedly carrying product\/boxes.

QUALIFICATIONS:\n\nMust be 21 as required by DOT.\nHigh school or equivalent (GED) degree.\nCertified by Austin Powder Safety Department.\nMust possess a current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the following classes.
Class A any combination over 26,001\nHAZMAT, tanker X-Combo Endorsements preferred or ability to obtain\n2 years driving experience with Class A CDL preferred\n\n


SKILLS\/KNOWLEDGE:\n\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with situations where only limited standardization exists.\nAbility to interpret a variety of instructions\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, product bulletins, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to identify products by sight.\nAbility to speak effectively with employees and customers\n
