Class A CDL Yard Jockey
**Job Description** Perform trailer movement according to prioritization to optimize plant or warehouse efficiencies and production needs · Hook, unhook and move trucks to and from the service department and around dock area · Spot or position loaded and unloaded trailers at assigned dock space for unloading or loading · Connect loaded semitrailers to tractors for the drivers · Maintain accurate trailer and inventory movement log · Follow steps to ensure proper operation and perform periodic preventive maintenance including pre and post trip inspections of equipment in the area · Perform duties required to ensure that assigned area is sanitary and clean · Wash exterior of trucks and trailers if appropriate for yard location · Complete sales route deliveries and/or over-the-road routes, as needed · Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety, DOT, and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity and accidents and injuries · Attend all driver workshops and training sessions · The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Comprehensive healthcare benefits Service recognition and employee rewards* Employee referral program Tuition reimbursement* Uniforms provided Work for dairy farm families *Varies by company and governing CBAs **Requirements** High School Diploma or equivalent · Tractor/trailer experience, within the last five years preferred · Must meet minimum age requirements · Meet all DOT requirements · Meet Dairy Farmers of America Motor Vehicle Record requirements · **Certification and/or License – Current CDL (Class A) license in state of residence; current tanker endorsement if needed** Understanding of DOT transportation regulations related to lawful operation · Able to work safely and recognize sudden hazards and adjust accordingly · Able to use computers and technology needed for the job · Skills with math sufficient to calculate load size · Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing · Able to interact positively and work effectively with others (interpersonal skills) · Able to be proactive in seeking solutions, taking appropriate steps for problem-solving · Able to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork · Able to follow directions and meet deadlines · Able to interpret and apply company policies · Able to adapt and manage to change effectively · Able to perform task and duties with limited supervision · Able to follow through on day-to-day responsibilities · Able to be punctual · Must be able to read, write and speak English An Equal Opportunity Employer An Equal Opportunity Employer
