BWXT is currently seeking Classification Analyst for its Lynchburg, VA location!

 

The BWXT NOG-L Classification Analyst is responsible for assisting and supporting the Classification Program Manager/Classification Officer in the continued development, improvement, management, maintenance, and administration of the Classification Program to ensure compliance with the Department of Energy (DOE) requirements included in applicable Guidance Documents, DOE Orders/Manuals, Implementation Bulletins, Security Plans, and implementing procedures. The NOG-L Classification Analyst provides technical support/expertise to the Classification Program.

Assist with the development, oversight, and maintenance of the NOG-L Classification Program. Develop and/or revise NOG-L classification procedures and related forms as needed. Conducts classification reviews and determinations as a Derivative Classifier (DC), Data Transfer DC, and NNPI DC. Assis with oversight of the DC Program to include DT-DCs, NNPI DCs and Limited Scope Material Movers (LSMMs). Develop and oversee annual DC and non-DC training for all personnel to include maintenance of associated documentation. Develop and administer DC training for possessing vendors. Review new and emergent classification guidance for cost and operational impacts. Review and provide input for contract proposals and Contract Security Classification Specifications (CSCS). Advise NOG-L management on noncompliance issues within the classified and sensitive unclassified information programs including writing associated reports as needed. Oversee the development, tracking, and closing of all Preventive/Corrective Action plans associated with the Classification Program. Develop, implement, and maintain the CUI/Official  Use Only and UCNI programs as part of the Enterprise Security Process (ESP) that comply with applicable DOE orders, Manuals, and associated directives; and provide technical assistance to NOG-L Management. Write required reports; maintain detailed records and program metrics as needed by management, internal auditors, and regulatory personnel; participate as needed in periodic audits. Successfully complete any training and qualifications as needed for the Classification Analyst position. Execute additional classification and information protection related projects and work as assigned by the Security Department Manager, Security Compliance and Access Control Section Manager and the Classification Program Manager. Maintains Classification SharePoint site and communications.

 

 

Job Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in scientific or technical field of study preferred; non-technical degrees and/or relevant work experience may be considered. Previous experience as a Derivative Classifier is preferred. Understanding//experience/knowledge of DOE Classification requirements as defined in DOE orders, manuals, and standards. Must be able to demonstrate excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills effectively with a broad range of individuals and groups, both internal and external, including but not limited to Senior Level Management, Engineers, DOE, NRC, suppliers, and other Company personnel. Must have demonstrable problem-solving skills and be flexible, able to learn quickly, action oriented, forward-thinking, and committed to improving processes and implementing new methods and technology. Must be high self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. Must have demonstrated successful experience managing and coordinating projects, teams, and or schedules (setting milestones, performing advance planning), including tracking work of others. Demonstrated competence in skills needed to analyze technical documents for classified information and content. Must have demonstrated successful experience working on multiple tasks with excellent time management. Proven leadership experience (informal or formal) is desired. Must be a U.S. Citizen with no dual citizenship. Must be able to maintain a U.S Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Pay: $80,000 - $135,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $80,000 and $135,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
