The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.
JOID assists the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in developing leading edge technologies to counter WMD in support of CCMDs and transitioning these technologies to military services and COCOMs. SPA provides expertise across the full range of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) WMD, Counter Improvised Threat and Countering Threat Network technologies to support understanding, detection, identification, characterization, denial, control, disabling, defeating, disposing, safeguarding the force, managing consequences, and test and evaluation in support of military and civilian operations.
We have an immediate need for a Classification Technical Review Analyst to provide onsite support in Lorton, VA.
ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will provide subject matter expertise in safeguarding high-value information. Implement policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting agency classified/sensitive information from unauthorized disclosure. Coordinate with offices, both internal and external, to protect the equities of stakeholders whose information is involved in the agency’s day-to-day operations. Review classification guidance generated for new or ongoing programs to ensure that specific and correct guidance is available to customers. Ensure even application of standards by reviewing information and documents scheduled for release outside the agency and to various customers. Coordinate with scientific, technical, and other subject-matter specialists to assess the classification level appropriate to information sensitivity. Consult with appropriate officials to determine whether a proposed classification level is too high or too low. Review classification and declassification decisions rendered by DTRA subject matter experts to ensure decisions are in compliance with national security standards.
