About The Position

The Clean Energy Transition Team Pilot Manager is responsible for leading the development and implementation of clean energy pilots and/or new programs. The manager will serve as the main point of contact for the execution of pilots (including Beneficial Electrification (BE), Distributed Energy Resources (DER), Energy Efficiency (EE) , and any emerging technology and business model pilots) and a subject matter expert for developing, managing, and implementing new pilots within the CET team. This position requires a unique skillset that includes project management, strategic thinking, and “solution development” testing and validation skills, to support, validate, and test new technologies, energy policies, and sold business models.

**Other Ameren Illinois offices may be considered based upon mutual agreement between hiring leader and successful candidate; Collinsville and Peoria are preferred locations.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead the development, implementation and tracking of clean energy transition pilots testing new technologies /solutions and demonstrating new business models, using project management best practices.Lead new pilot development processes, including requirements gathering, prioritization, and pilot program planning. Take a principal role in the development of new programs beyond pilots as CET continues to evolve and grow.Lead coordination with project stakeholders to ensure appropriate representation of interests/values and the inclusion of functional requirements in pilot design.Develop and maintain pilot documentation, including comprehensive project plans, status reports, and mitigation plans. Define pilot project objectives and ensure the successful execution of pilots within defined timelines and budgets.Initiate and lead pilot status reports to accurately monitor progress against pilot objectives, timelines, budgets and goals.Ensure proper project reporting to comply with regulatory requirements and support regulatory filings.Coordinate and oversee the efforts of pilot team, as well as third-party contractors and consultants, to ensure the successful delivery of pilots according to established plans.Oversee the coordination of internal and external resources (subcontractors and vendors) committed to successful pilot execution.Review and approve vendor invoices, manage contract compliance, and coordinate accounting activities with Corporate Accounting.Stay abreast of ongoing clean energy research and trends in innovation, technology and new business models, and actively inform CET team colleagues and program managers of such trends.Partner with Clean Energy Transition peers and other internal organizations (e.g., Ameren Illinois Rates & Regulatory, Government Relations, Customer Satisfaction, Economic Development, Communication and Operations, and Ameren Corporate Innovation & Planning) to drive alignment on clean energy strategy and key goals and objectives.Provide team leadership and focus to advance Ameren’s overall vision and mission.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, product management, engineering, or a related discipline is required. Seven or more years of relevant experience in product management, business management, program management, or data analytics is required. Experience in the utility business is required. High-level team/project leadership preferred. Master’s and/or MBA preferred

Experience managing complex plans, projects, budgets, and deadlines that require coordination across multiple stakeholders to support objectives and goals. Experience building relationships and working in partnership with diverse audiences and stakeholders. Proven analytical skills, including making sound decisions with ambiguous information and analyzing complex data. Proven ability to identify and solve complex problems working with diverse stakeholders. Good decision-making, and teamwork skills. Excellent organizational, project and task management skills. Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel (required).
