Clean Transportation Workforce Specialist ENERGY COMMISSION SPECIALIST II (TECH EVALUATION AND DEVELOPMENT) $7,367.00 - $9,422.00 per Month Final Filing Date: 1/1/2025 Job Description and Duties The Fuels and Transportation Division is recruiting for a highly motivated and team-oriented Energy Commission Specialist II within the Strategy, Equity, and Economic Benefits Branch. The Program Integration Unit invites applicants to join a friendly team of professional staff leading the investment planning, benefits tracking, workforce training and development initiatives, and community engagement for the California Energy Commission’s Clean Transportation Program. The Clean Transportation Program is California’s lead program in deploying zero-emission vehicle infrastructure to help achieve California's ambitious air quality, climate, and environmental justice goals. Under the general supervision of the Program and Project Supervisor, the Energy Commission Specialist II will be responsible for a wide variety of analytical tasks associated with the Clean Transportation Program and related workforce development. The position will provide expert guidance on highly complex technical and economic issues related to the development and use of zero-emission vehicle technologies in California’s transportation sector. The position will serve as a lead program planning and program implementation specialist and will support the California Energy Commission’s work to ensure workforce training and development that leads to high quality jobs is embedded in the Clean Transportation Program investments and policies. The position will track and evaluate key outcomes and metrics associated with Clean Transportation Program projects, particularly as it relates to assessing job outcomes. The position will have responsibility for projects requiring coordination with staff inside and outside of the California Energy Commission. Working Conditions The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers.
