Join us as a Systems Administrator (Junior) to provide hands-on technical support for a Federal Law Enforcement Agency. This role is ideal for individuals eager to build their career by managing and optimizing IT systems that support key organizational objectives. This position is on site in Quantico, VA and requires a Top-Secret clearance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, workstations, and servers to meet organizational needs. Assist in monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal functionality. Support software installations and upgrades, ensuring compatibility and adherence to IT policies. Conduct routine system backups and maintain data recovery operations to safeguard critical information. Create and update system documentation, including configurations, operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Provide user support by addressing technical issues and ensuring timely resolution. Assist with system and software audits to maintain compliance with security and operational standards. Collaborate with senior administrators and technical teams on projects and upgrades.Required Skills / Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience recommended. In the absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level. Experience in AWS, Microsoft, Windows Server, Citrix, NetApp, Dell Unity, Dell Avamar, Hyper-V, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure DevOps, Ivanti, Microsoft Service Manager, Atlassian, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, WSUS, and BigFix. Basic knowledge of operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux, or UNIX. Familiarity with system monitoring tools and backup/recovery solutions. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Excellent communication and customer service skills to support end-users effectively. Active Top Secret ClearanceDesired Skills / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate. Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices. Experience supporting IT systems in a Federal Law Enforcement Agency or government environment. Knowledge of Active Directory and basic network administration.
