Are you a skilled systems engineer with a passion for designing and maintaining robust IT environments? Join us as a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to contribute to the development, optimization, and security of critical systems for a Federal Law Enforcement Agency. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to support mission-critical objectives. This position is on site in Quantico, VA and requires a Top-Secret clearance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

Design, develop, and implement system solutions that align with organizational needs and goals. Manage and maintain virtualization platforms, cloud-based solutions, and on-premises infrastructure. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and implement new technologies and enhancements. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including configurations, workflows, and procedures. Conduct regular system audits and ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards. Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.

Required Skills / Experience:  

Minimum of 5 years of experience. In the absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level. Experience in AWS, Microsoft, Windows Server, Citrix, NetApp, Dell Unity, Dell Avamar, Hyper-V, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure DevOps, Ivanti, Microsoft Service Manager, Atlassian, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, WSUS, and BigFix. Familiarity with IT modernization initiatives, hybrid cloud environments, and IT service management best practices. Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, compliance standards, and data protection strategies. Active Top Secret Clearance 

Desired Skills / Experience:  

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (1 year of education = 1.5 years of experience). Certifications in lieu of a degree include, but are not limited to: AWS SysOps Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP, CISM, CASP+, etc. Strong knowledge of system architecture, integration, and performance optimization. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Experience with scientific/forensic applications is preferred. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
