Through our Center for Connected Care, we provide a full continuum of care so that patients can recover from illnesses or injuries in the very best location for their individual needs. As a Clerical Assistant, you will provide clerical, reception and administrative support by communicating with patients and visitors, acting as a liaison with other hospital caregivers, answering, screening and referring incoming phone calls, taking and relaying messages, typing, editing and proofreading various communications, and performing data entry and retrieval.
A caregiver in this position works a hybrid schedule of 8:00AM – 5:00AM or 8:30AM – 5:30AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide clerical support for unit operations which includes compiling information, producing correspondence, reports and spreadsheets.
Sort, identify and distribute mail.
Assist in the development of presentations.
Provide general information to internal and external customers.
Screen visitors and callers coming into the area/office, answer questions, answer, screen and refer incoming telephone calls, take and relay messages, refer customers to appropriate location or person as necessary, and respond to requests for information.
Coordinate various calendars, arrange meetings, distribute agendas, and type and distribute minutes.
Develop and maintain filing and electronic filing systems.
Maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients, families and coworkers.
Input and retrieve data.
Order or assist with ordering supplies and equipment.
Train and/or orient new clerical and nursing caregivers in clerical procedures.
Provide cross-coverage for other clerical/secretarial positions as necessary.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school diploma or GED.
One year of experience in a clerical/receptionist position.
Typing proficiency of 25WPM with accuracy.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Experience in a healthcare setting including direct patient/family contact.
Epic Hyperspace experience.
Microsoft skills and experience.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
