FLSA Status: Non- exempt


  Position Summary                                                                                                                                                                             

The Clerical Assistant supports the Surgical Navigation team under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse/Provider/Manager of SNC department.

 Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:                                                                                                                                                                              Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Access patient’s EMR to obtain information Manages telephone communications efficiently and delivers messages in a timely fashion Responds to telephone inquiries and acts as a liaison for patient/team Call patients daily to fill out questionnaire form and to schedule provider or RN visit Schedule appointments Email/phone call to offices for missing paperwork Scan documents to the charts Register patients Addresses issues with appropriate actions Participates in Performance Improvement Initiatives Attends mandatory in-services and staff meetings Collaborates and communicates effectively with the health care team. Completes annual mandatory requirements Performs all other related duties as assigned    ​​​​​​

Education &Experience Requirements                                                                                                                          

High School Diploma required

Successful completion of departmental

orientation

College or Business (Secretarial) School preferred

Minimum 3-5 years healthcare experience preferred

Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc. Must be physically able to transport heavy objects more than 50lbs with a minimum of one (1) assist or assistive device; perform difficult manipulative, arm – hand steadiness and hand –eye coordination skills; walk and stand for a minimum of three hours at a time. Must be physically able to meet all regulatory requirements with/without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to perform word processing/computer work and use of transcription equipment Constant use of hand coordination and finger dexterity. Ability to concentrate on fine detail for extended periods of time and with frequent distractions. Perform repetitive functions constantly. Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to follow through on assignments without supervision frequently. Ability to take initiative and be creative with workflow frequently. Ability to communicate effectively, create form documents and compose correspondence frequently. Ability to monitor flow of traffic (visitors, meetings, phone calls) and assess priorities constantly. Must have the ability to attend to tasks for more than 60 minutes at a time frequently. Must be able to understand theories behind customer service and timely transports constantly. Salary Range: $39,923.72-$59,885.48 (Ranges based on Full Time Hours)
