I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Reviews, checks and processes standard paperwork associated with departmental functions, such as purchase requisitions, statistical activity/performance reports, work orders, employment requisitions, etc.
2. Produces standard correspondence, memos and reports from drafts. Checks material for spelling, etc. May complete or produce standard forms.
3. Exchanges and provides basic procedural information to personnel within and outside of the department.  Receives phone calls and messages, refers matters to appropriate person within department.
4. Provides basic assistance for the preparation of reports or projects. Gathers specified documents, files, records, etc. Checks, tabulates and arranges basic statistical or financial data. 
5. Produces standard computer-based reports, and maintains current information in established computer-based files.  
6. Maintains a variety of basic logs, records and standard reports.  Maintains office files and records.
7. Utilizes personal computers or remote data terminals to view, record, or verify information in established database files.
8. Orders office supplies and basic maintenance of office equipment.
9. Performs miscellaneous clerical duties, including collating, sorting, faxing, filing, and distributing and retrieving documents and mail. Records and relays phone messages.
10. Greets visitors, provides basic information to direct them to the appropriate person or destination.
11. Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrates the use of quality improvement in daily operations.
12. Ensures compliance with health and satiety requirements, with regulatory agencies such as DPH, etc.

2. Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
3. Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
4. Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.

6. Maintains, regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
7. Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.

II. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. High School diploma
2. 6-12 months of related office/clerical/administrative support experience.

Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. Basic use of word processing
2. Basic use of spreadsheet

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments.  The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description.  Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.

III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:

Work is considered sedentary. Position requires work indoors in a normal office environment.
