Job Description

The Clerical Manager, Diagnostic Imaging (DI), participates actively as a member of the DI team, providing motivating and visionary leadership that fosters quality patient care delivery, excellent operational performance and evidence-based decision-making as well as maintains responsibility for all activities related to the DI clerical team and supporting processes and procedures. The incumbent will lead the day-to-day operations of the DI clerical team, identify improvement opportunities and design and implement relevant solutions, in collaboration with team members and relevant partners.

Accountabilities:

Maintains responsibility for the effective and efficient management of portfolioEvaluates structures, strategies, and processes; identifies opportunities for improvement with respect to service delivery and utilization of resources; ensuring consistency with the organization’s VisionDevelops, implements and manages short- and long-term plans for the portfolioProvides leadership through responsive and timely problem-solving of issues throughout the portfolioReviews/modifies existing and identifies/develops new short/long-term plans, in collaboration with DI leadership, prepares appropriate business plan documents in support of short- and long-term planning initiativesManages all aspects of portfolio human resources in consultation with assigned HR personnelSupports organizational strategies and initiatives (i.e. staff satisfaction) for the development of a motivated, cohesive and high functioning team of business/health administration professionals who can effectively meet portfolio requirements, involving encouraging ideas and suggestions for improvements in policies, procedures/practice, working with the leadership team to ensure creative and meaningful ways to acknowledge/recognize staff/volunteers and promotional opportunitiesSupports staff in a responsive and timely manner to perform effectively in their roles, meeting regularly with and encouraging leadership development with staff; utilizing effective strategies for change management and manages the change process effectivelyValues diversity in patients/staff/physicians and maintains a climate that attracts, maintains and motivates a diverse staff of top quality people, ensuring hospital policies/procedures are implemented to promote fairness and opennessCollaborates with site/program leadership in the development and implementation of staff recruitment and retention strategies; collaborates with Human Resources to develop up-to-date job documentation and maintains accountability for the recruitment, orientation and release of staffDevelops, implements and communicates performance measures in keeping with relevant professional and/or Osler standards; conducts regular performance appraisals of direct reports, guides and influences staff activities so that organizational goals are met and/or exceeded, provides ongoing coaching and feedback in a positive and supportive manner and recommends remedial action, if required

QualificationsMasters degree in health administration, business or related experience in a progressive, complex environment preferredUndergraduate degree in health administration, business management or health sciences requiredSix or more years related experience (program/service), including experience working in a leadership roleExperience in quality and process improvement preferredExperience in managing operational team in health care preferredExperience in managing a large sized team preferredWorking in a unionized environment preferredWorking with hospital information systems preferredProject planning, management and implementation experience preferredDemonstrated strong analytical and effective problem-solving abilitiesDemonstrated excellence in leadership and change management skillsDemonstrated ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships including effective collaboration with other leaders within the program and across the organizationDemonstrated effective leadership, planning and project management skillsExcellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skillsProven ability to establish positive relationshipsHighly motivated team playerEstablished reputation as a consultative, collaborative, coaching and mentoring style of leadershipMust demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and CollaborationAbility to travel between all Osler sites will be required

Hours: Currently Days (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

ANNUAL SALARY:
Minimum: $104,227.50
Maximum: $130,279.50
