JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for overall front end revenue cycle functions. Effects ongoing quality, productivity and efficiency in daily operations of departments and services by providing office management and supervision of non-clinical employees, serving as administrative and financial resource person, providing backup support for all administrative positions, and interfacing with referral sources, insurers, hospital staff, physicians, and customers. Areas of responsibility include but not limited to referrals/orders, scheduling, registration, charge entry, regulatory compliance, medical records, staff education and staffing. Supervises up to 9 FTEs.
Patient Care: Identifies opportunities to improve patient care based on feedback from staff and customers.
Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs. Monitors quality of core process in department.Teamwork: Works within a team to achieve patient treatment goals.
Shares and initiates regular and professional communication with co-workers. Participates in regular staff meeting. Collaborates with other departments or disciplines to achieve desired outcomes.Technical Competency: Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed.
Obtains complete history and physical data on patients. Reviews patient records. Performs a complete physical exam and records findings. Establishes presumptive diagnosis. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention. Provides care that is appropriate for specific age groups.The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associate's Degree in Health or Business Administration required.
Experience: 1 year of clerical experience in a medical office setting required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
