Job Overview:

Under the direction of the Manager, the Clerk performs clerical and receptionist duties and maintains the physical environment of the area.

Qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma or GED equivalent At least two years of administrative and secretarial experience in a healthcare facility or doctor's office setting

Preferred:

Post-secondary courses in business or secretarial school are desirable.Direct knowledge of hospital procedures is preferable.Excellent secretarial skills including: written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal relations.Knowledge of computers required; Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook, Excel, & PowerPoint.

Scheduling Requirements:

Status: Per Diem (At least 3 days per week)Shift: Days (No weekends)Hours 8:00a.m. - 1:00pm

Essential Functions:

The receptionist greets each patient and family member as they arrive at the center. Receptionist issues the registration face sheet, history form and patient bill of rights. Make corrections to patient data (procedure, insurance or referring physicians). Alerts the staff that patient has arrived.Assumes responsibility for all activities pertaining to the reception area. Is responsible for answering phones, taking messages and directing phone inquiries to the proper person/place. Performs clerical duties without requiring constant supervision. Exercises good judgment in dealing with patients.
